St. John Center for Homeless Men is recruiting volunteers (ages 16 and over) for the Redwing Shoe Giveaway that will take place at the Salvation Army at 911 S. Brook Street from Monday, August 26 to Wednesday, August 28. They are looking for volunteers for Sunday through Wednesday. Volunteers must contact St. John Center first as there are only so many volunteer slots each day. Here are the specifics:
Sunday 8/25, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.: 4-6 volunteers
Monday 8/26, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.: 6 volunteers
Tuesday 8/27, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.: 6 volunteers
Wednesday 8/28, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.: 6 volunteers
On Sunday, volunteers will unload the trucks and sort shoes. Volunteers on Monday to Wednesday will tickets, manage the line, direct guests to the giveaway area, and serve as runners to get the shoes.
