Religious Education Classes
Our Sunday morning faith formation program for young people, grades kindergarten through high school is beginning on Sunday morning, September 8th and it’s not too late to join!  Classes begin at 10:15 and end at 11:30.  Saint Martin’s program teaches the truths and traditions of our Catholic faith in a fun and engaging way.  (A few pictures from last year’s classes can be seen on the bulletin board in the back of church.)  The 2019-2020 school year will also be a sacramental preparation year for those children who will be seven years old and receiving their First Reconciliation and First Communion.  Please come by or call the Rectory if you’d like an enrollment form or if you have any questions at all.  The Children’s Liturgy of the Word, at the 9:00 Mass, will also begin meeting again this Sunday.

Ever Wonder What Happens at the Children’s Liturgy of the Word?
The Children’s Liturgy of the Word, for youngsters who have not yet received their First Communion, takes place every Sunday at the 9:00 a.m. Mass, during the months from September through April.  At the beginning of the liturgical readings, these young children come back to the Saint Gregory Chapel (in the back of the church) near the entry door where the day’s gospel is read to them from the Lectionary for Children and an age-appropriate discussion ensues as to how they can best live out the lesson of that gospel in their own daily lives as Catholic children.  Any remaining time available is spent coloring a picture corresponding to that day’s gospel reading, learning about a “saint of the day” or another element of the Catholic faith.  The children return to their families before the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins.
